The real fact is NO whey isolate is absolutely 100% lactose free - any whey protein product claiming to be "lactose free" is VERY LIKELY NOT and would therefore not be complying with US FDA or Health Canada regulations either. The regulations are clear there - if there is ANY "detectable lactose" the product should not claim to be "lactose free".

Every whey protein has at least some "detectable lactose"

But if you can simply handle drinking about 1/8th of a cup of milk, your body can likely easily tolerate Hardcore ISO's trivial amount of lactose - both have about the same little amount of lactose. As always though, if you are truly concerned consult your doctor.

The fast answer is that the protein content is the main difference.

Isolate is typically about 10% higher in protein than whey protein concentrate (90% protein vs 80% protein typically). The quality of the protein is virtually identical. The quality of the protein portion itself does not magically change in any significant way when the whey is filtered to 80% protein as compared to being filtered to 90% protein.

Whey concentrate costs less - many people use it of course.

Whey Isolate is simply regarded as cleaner and leaner (higher in protein, with hardly any (about 1-2% typically) lactose or fat remaining, whereas whey concentrate would retain about 6-8% naturally occurring lactose and 6-8% fat.

MUTANT HARDCORE ISO protein powder tastes amazing when mixed with water alone - we specifically develop each formula to taste great in just water! However, you can also mix MUTANT HARDCORE ISO with your beverage of choice such as almond milk, dairy milk, and even cold brew coffee!

Yes. Every product we make is tested to meet both Health Canada (CFIA) and U.S. FDA safety standards for heavy metals. We source over 500 ingredients from more than 20 countries, so we never rely on assumptions about safety — we rely on testing. Each ingredient and finished product goes through rigorous Quality Control checks, including:

• Microbiological tests (for mold, yeast, salmonella, E. coli, and bacteria)
• Heavy metal testing (for lead, mercury, cadmium, and others)

For certain ingredients, like whey protein, we go even further — testing for listeria, a rare but serious pathogen. In addition, many of our products also undergo third-party verification such as Informed Choice testing for banned substances, ingredient identity, potency, and protein accuracy. Our goal is simple: to ensure every product is safe, clean, and compliant, no matter where its ingredients come from.
